Counterpart Aviary is a dedicated bird and parrot rescue located in Southern Idaho, proudly serving Boise, Meridian, Nampa, Caldwell, Kuna, Eagle, and the surrounding Treasure Valley. We specialize in the rescue, rehabilitation, and rehoming of domestic and exotic birds, including parrots, cockatiels, cockatoos, macaws, parakeets, conures, and more.

Our Story

From a young age, founder McKenna had a natural instinct for helping birds in need. She was always rescuing injured or abandoned birds and doing everything she could to nurse them back to health. As her experience and skills grew, so did her passion. She began taking in unwanted parrots and other companion birds—and discovered she had a gift for matching each one with the perfect home.

After moving back to Boise, Idaho from Tacoma, WA in 2023, McKenna quickly realized how few resources existed for domestic and exotic bird rescue in the Treasure Valley. The need was clear, and in 2025, she officially opened Counterpart Aviary, turning a lifelong calling into a community resource.
